Birmingham Trolleybuses
by David Harvey
The city has two unconnected trolleybus routes to Nechells and Shelson which totalled 11.69 miles. They were each, in totally different ways, histrionically important, pioneering at various times a tram replacement, top covered double-deckers and metal framed bodies. They even had trolleybuses with half cabs and dummy radiators. This lavishly illustrated album has photographs of Birmingham's "Silent Service" operating in both long vanished areas as well as some still recognisable street scenes.
