Narrow Gauge

Two-foot Gauge Survivors

A tour of historic 60cm passenger railways of the English speaking world

by Vic Mitchell

Readers are taken on armchair journeys on three railways in India, two in South Africa and two in Wales. One of the latter is the Ffestiniog Railway, which pioneered the use of steam on this small gauge and is shown to be still the world leader technically. Its undeniable importance in narrow gauge history is emphasised unashamedly by the author, who was one of the founders of the supporting society.
