Narrow Gauge

Dorset and Somerset Narrow Gauge

by Vic Mitchell & Keith Smith

Dorset was noted for its clay workings and the lines serving this industry are extensively illustrated. Other firms using narrow gauge ranged from watercress growers to brick makers - all are included, along with the more recent leisure lines. Somerset was famed for its peat carrying railways, while stone quarries had their fair share of fascinating lines.
