Country Railway Routes
Craven Arms to Llandeilo
the heart of the Wales Line
by John Organ
Although located within an area dominated by the Great Western Railway, the majority of the line was under the control of the London and North Western Railway and its successor the London, Midland and Scottish. As a consequence, the motive power requirements were always to be provided by the superlative locomotives from Crewe and Derby. The photographs within these pages will convey the pastoral charm of this fascinating route as it passes through the countryside from the Welsh Marches towards the industrial regions of South Wales.
