Branch Lines to Longmoor
by Vic Mitchell & Keith Smith
The Longmoor Military Railway started life as the Woolmer Instructional Military Railway in a barren undeveloped part of East Hampshire, in the early years of the 20th century. Thousands of servicemen were trained on the line in all aspects of railway construction and operation, using a very diverse collection of rolling stock and equipment. This is fully illustrated, together with many of the memorable public open days.
